Committing Without Hesitancy

More From My Friend Stephanie! I shared one of her blogs from within Raw Food Rehab with you before. She is a wise woman!

This was a quote I saw this morning...I have no idea who this person is, but I like the message :)

Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness...the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred.
- W.H. Murray, of the Scottish Himalayan Expedition

When I reflect on what it means for me to fully commit to eating raw with no hesitancy, I realize that's it's much bigger than simply committing to what I eat.

The first thing I think of is that I am committed to my health. When someone asks me why I eat raw, I say it's because of health reasons. I truly believe that eating raw organic fruits & vegetables is the healthiest way to feed our bodies. I don't currently have any health problems that I am trying to cure, but eating this way will hopefully prevent me from having a disease later on in life.

Being committed to my health later on in life means I am committed to my relationships. I am committed to being here for my loved ones for as long as I am physically & mentally able.

This is sometimes hard for people to understand because we live in a society that seeks instant gratification - what's in it for me right now? By committing to the future, I am giving my friends/family the greatest gift I can give them today. Each day I am someone who they can depend on for being happy, healthy, strong, agile, fun, loving, supportive, motivational, inspirational...the list is endless!

I'm going to remember this the next time I feel bad for turning down something a loved one made. i.e. Grandma baked this pie for you, aren't you going to have some? (insert guilt trip here) Instead, I will be proud knowing that by not eating the food, I am actually giving them the gift of all my love.

We are in a battle for our Health!

Come Join The Journey, click HERE!

If you have had some bumps and bruises,
let this song be a strong word
of comfort, encouragement and the push
you need to get back out there and fight the battle and WIN! : )
KNOW WHO Your Strength comes from...

Lately I've been winning battles left and right.
But even winners can get wounded in the fight.
People say that I'm amazing Strong beyond my years.
But they don't see inside of me, I'm hiding all the tears

They don't know that I go running home when I fall down
They don't know who picks me up when no one is around
I drop my sword and cry for just a while
'Cause deep inside this armorThe warrior is a child

Unafraid because His armor is the best.
But even soldiers need a quiet place to rest.
People say that I'm amazing.
Never face retreat.
But they don't see the enemies That lay me at His feet

They don't know that I go running home when I fall down

They don't know who picks me up when no one is around

I drop my sword and and cry for just a while

'Cause deep inside this armor

the warrior is a child

They don't know that I go running home when I fall down

They don't know who picks me up when no one is around

I drop my sword and look up for a smile

'Cause deep inside this armor

Deep inside this armor

Deep inside this armor

The Warrior is a Child

Do you know how to train an elephant? Changing our thinking....letting go of what limits us...

Do you know how to train an elephant?
When a baby elephant is born, it knows only one thing: Mom! She is her baby’s primary place of safety and source of nourishment. As long as the mother is tied with a length of rope to the stake, the baby elephant stays within the limits of the mother out of necessity. Soon the baby elephant’s leg is tied to its own rope and stake. The rope is not very thick and is not driven very deep into the ground. Early on, the baby elephant knows its limitations. It can only go as far as the rope will allow.

Several years later when the baby has grown, the animal is an ominous sight. Although it possesses immense strength, its leg is still tied to a thin rope. The length of rope from the post is the only distance this huge, powerful animal will go. Anyone can see that with only a slight effort, the elephant could snap the rope in two. Yet, it does not! Why? Tied to the stake, that rope has always been the elephant’s limiting factor in life.

Years later, when the elephant feels the slightest resistance from the rope, Although the animal is thousands of pounds heavier, it BELIEVES that it can go no further. This illustrates the power of a yoke. Today, many people are bound to the limits of repetitive cycles of attitude, frustration, fear, behavior, and other bondages. Although the Greater One lives within them, they accept these false limits as the boundaries of their lives.

Have you been trained like an elephant? Does the old perimeter of fear still stand as your limiting boundary?

What habits have you formed since childhood over food boundaries? Did you have boundaries? Dealing with these issues will relieve the pressure when in comes to change.

Apply the above story to the Raw Foods Lifestyle.

Breaking through the wall of fear that holds you back from fully enjoying this lifestyle.
Reset your thinking!!!

These are some notes I wrote out in the first person.

Thinking of Dreams in the Present Tense

My friend Stephanie Brown wrote the following blog at the Hab.  She has given me permission to share it here on my blog!  Enjoy!

In today's video Penni talked about the importance of visualizing your goals as if you have already attained them. Here is my list of statements that I have come up with that I will read every day:

My body is strong and healthy. I am vibrant and full of life.

Taking care of myself physically is important to me. I like keeping
myself fit and feeling good.

I have more energy and stamina than ever before.

I enjoy life and I'm glad to be here.

I am raw vegan and I am proud of myself.

I always do what is best for me, myself, and my future.

I always do everything I need to do, when I need to do it.

I thrive on eating clean, fresh, organic raw food.

I enjoy being healthy and in complete control of my body and my mind.

I find freedom in eating only what is best for my body.

I exercise regularly. I keep myself fit and healthy.

I am enjoying a lifetime of energy and vitality. All my senses are clear and alive.

I give myself permission to relax, feel good, breathe deeply and fully,
and enjoy being a healthy raw vegan at all times and in all

People enjoy being around me. I have self-confidence and self-respect.

I like myself, and it shows!

Being a raw vegan is easy for me. After all, I was born this way and it is the natural thing for me to do.
Here is the video:

and the day before's video:

I Hope You Dance : )

I Hope You Dance

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they're worth taking
Lovin' might be a mistake
But it's worth making
Don't let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)

I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
I hope you dance
(Where those years have gone)

(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)

Oorah!! Whooooo Raw? YOU RAW!!

"Oorah" has been used the the US Marines and the US Coast Guard and others.

I recently watched one of our family's favorite movies: The Guardian. Kevin Costner plays the role of a Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer and Instructor. If you have not seen this, I highly suggest it!

This movie shows people pushing themselves beyond where they thought they could go...

Liken your new experience to Military Boot Camp.
The marching might tire you...the new food might challenge your head and tastebuds...
The new environment may be strange...there are things to get used to...
No matter how tough or rough your early days in your raw food journey are....

Whooooo Raw?

I am of Finnish descent. We have a one word saying: SISU! It means GUTS! You see it on bumper stickers all over the Upper Peninsula of Michigan because there are so many Finns here.

I challenge you to take one of these mottos I mentioned or take one of your own and post it somewhere to remind you daily, hourly, etc...that you have what it takes to accomplish your goals, even when you don't feel like it!

"A man may fail many times but he isn't a failure until he begins to blame somebody else."
- J. Paul Getty

"Our life always expresses the result of our dominant thoughts." - Sren Kierkegaard

Okay, Team Raw Food Rehab, now show us your stuff!
Whooooo Raw?

What is your Running Cadence for this 11 weeks?

There is a Shift, a Change, a Whole-Life-Makeover Happening Around the Raw Food Rehab Unit!! Do You Feel It?

Things are falling into place...Life is beginning to synchronize!!

Everyone is finding their own place.
The last several weeks have been a preparation for the BIG OVERHAUL in our lives!

Are you ready!! READY FOR A NEW LIFE?
...Ready to run forward and grab ahold of the life that is waiting for us, outside of the food issues that have held us back from wholeness, fullness and contentment!?!

It is like when you start a new job...for the first couple of 2 to 3 weeks, you feel like you are trying to figure it all out and it is exhausting....and then one day you wake up and feel powerfully know how everything runs, where all the files are, where all the offices are and who is in them and what they do. You feel grounded and ready to actually feel know your way around and things are familiar...

Well, we have all been brought to the Raw Food Rehab Unit....some in many pieces and war-torn and tired; tired of the life that has not been building us up ...we are now getting our bearings and can make this time spent here powerfully life changing!! We can trust the process of change to take us where we all desire to be....into a path of freedom, into a place of peace with food, into a place where we find our lives outside of the food and all the issues that caused us to focus so heavily on it in the first place!

Raw food placed into our bodies pushes out the old toxins stored in our our minds, in our spirits...when that is happening we experience detox...hey, that is what REHAB UNITS are known for!!! So let's not focus on the detox....when something happens, just chalk it up to detox and look further ahead and not get stumped over the release of the junk in our cells, our minds and spirits....

We don''t live in the Raw Food Rehab Unit is just a place to let go of the past and reach out and embrace the make the most of your stay here....set your sights high...when you do not achieve your goals as quickly, just RELAX.....they will come, when you realize that you have the rest of your life...if you are making this as a lifestyle change, to grow and change to become who you were created to be!!

Let's all be ready for instruction ...let's all participate...let's all make this time together beneficial for everyone who is here...Think of ways to encourage others and give of yourself...get the focus off of yourself and see how quickly your life begins to transform!! Your sharing of what is helping you will be just the tip, or recipe or phrase that will take the edge off for someone else!! And if you are thinking of leaving the Rehab unit, please think again...if you are not here, there will be a hole, a space that someone else cannot cover!! There is only one YOU and we need you, as much as you need us!!

Let's stand at attention and in formation like an army unit does...ready for the day's orders!! Let's carry them out and even if it tires us alittle or alot, embrace the inner changes so the outside changes can blossom forth!!

When you put your head to the pillow tonight and every night, recall all the manuevers we had to do...all the running in place, all the obstacles we had to climb over...all the challenges we met together and helped each other through....and REST PEACEFULLY and awaken refreshed and ready to do it all over again, day after day, until it becomes routine and we do not resist the change anymore! And we then begin to look and feel like the people with purpose we all desire to be!

Attention!!! BE AT EASE!!
Huggggggggs, grins and prayers,
Susan: )

Take Care of Yourself FIRST!

Apply the following to your new Raw Food Lifestyle!

You're on an airplane; the steward is making the normal safety announcements. "....Notice where your seat is...... If the oxygen mask comes down, before you help anyone else, first put the oxygen mask on yourself."

You think to yourself: Wait a minute! NO-- I need to get the oxygen mask on Little Johnny before I get it on myself he can't go without oxygen he's just a tiny kid I can hold my breath for a minute while I help him first!!

I mean, have YOU ever had that thought? (I ALWAYS have that thought.)

In fact, if I hadn't heard that same message 576 times, I probably WOULD put the mask on Little Johnny first-it feels like a gut instinct, to help others before you help yourself.

Well WHY do the airlines tell us to put our own mask on first?
"If you are seated next to someone who might need some assistance, such as a child, an individual with limited physical or mental capabilities or just a sleepy, groggy spouse, you should put your own mask on first, then breathe normally as you assist the other person. That way, if the other struggles, you will have a steady flow of oxygen as you fight the person to get their mask on.".....from:

Take care of yourself first

It's a wise concept, even if- at first- intuitively it maybe even feels a bit selfish. But...think about it a minute.

What's the best way to take care of yourself and your loved ones ....... most would agree it's to be at the top of your game in all ways. Your clarity of mind, focus, energy, physical strength, mood, sense of well-being... immune system, your general health; the better you are the better you are able to do the job that you need to do. The better you are, the better equipped you are to handle anything that comes along, whether that manifests as needing to lift a 75 pound sack, pump water, change a tire, tend a garden, care for others...

So my first intuitive flash of wanting to help Little Johnny on with his oxygen mask before I put mine on-the concept of help others before you help yourself -is..backwards...the truth is, in order to help others, you must first take care of yourself!! Put that life preserver around your own neck first, before you dive in to pull others to safety!

It makes sense to "put your oxygen mask on first", so you won't pass out before you can help someone else. In other words, it makes sense to take care of yourself so you will be able to handle whatever comes along.

Right now even listening to the news can be stressful-what can you do to take care of yourself so that you can be the best you possible- No matter what happens?

What You Can Expect From Your Stay At The Raw Food Rehab Mansion

We can all remember (or maybe I am dating myself here!) the show with Robin Leach, "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous." People with unlimited wealth jet-setting all over the world in high forms of luxury that seemed outrageous. Amazing things they do, spending their time and money on things I cannot even begin to grasp. It wowed me and still does.

As ones who have the Lifestyle of the Raw and Healthy, we can walk in unlimited health and energy and vitality. And because of this, we "raise our norm of living." What may seem outrageous to those around us who are not doing what we are the norm for us. We spend our time and money doing things that promote this healthy lifestyle.

We fill our shopping carts with food filled with LIFE. We choose the BEST fuel for our bodies, minds and spirits. We have a light in our step and in our eyes...people take notice. Some of them see the results in us and jump on in with us...Others cannot begin to grasp how and why we do what we do. But that doesn't stop us. Our priorities are set in place. We now walk to the beat of a different drummer. Our lives no longer are defined as they once were.

The definition of the word "passionately" is: having, compelled by, or ruled by intense emotion or strong feeling.

What exactly is the LIFESTYLE of the Raw and Healthy?
What does it look like?

The definition of the word "lifestyle" is: the habits, attitudes, tastes, moral standards, economic level, etc., that together constitute the mode of living of an individual or group.
What are the habits of the Raw and Healthy?
What are the attitudes of the Raw and Healthy?
What are the tastes of the Raw and Healthy?

What are the CHOICES of the Raw and Healthy?
What is the MIND-SET of the Raw and Healthy?

Ponder this...What are your "Raw Routines"

How is your lifestyle changing?
How are your habits changing?
How are your attitudes changing?
How are your tastes changing?

How are your choices changing?
How is your mind-set changing?
Wheatgrass Wishes,

and Green Smoothie Dreams,
Susan :)

PS...I hear some saying that they have fallen off the wagon...
Just wanted to let you know...
that we do not have a "wagon" here at the Raw Food Rehab Mansion!

We ride around "in style" ...we have a limousine....
and I can't find a great reason to leave THIS limo!
Besides, Charles, our RFR Limo Driver has secured and locked the doors!! : )

Our "Special Central Secret Place in Cyber Space"

This is a place we call HOME,
a place to hang our hats,
kick off our shoes,
drink our Green Smoothies,
and share our lives....
a place to give and draw strength,
a cafe where wisdom is served up with sides of resources and experiences.

Any time during the day..whether early in the morning,
or after a day at work, or even in the middle of the night,
each of us logs in to get energized and empowered
to embrace this raw lifestyle...
linking arms,
patting each other on the back with hugs and grins,
laughing and sharing together!!

Questions are answered with the collective experience of this group.
Solutions come with great ease along this journey
because everyone has so much
to share, to give, to glean and to learn.

There is a specialness about this group.
We can all feel it...
It is why we find ourselves thinking about each other
when we are not online together...
why we send up prayers
when someone is going through a challenge...
why we see some fresh produce and think to ourselves,
"I gotta try that recipe that so and so posted!"
or "I gotta check in to see
how they did in that special circumstance they were talking about."

This is a Central Gathering Place....
sometimes it is so super BUSY
with blogs and posts and pictures and videos
zipping around like people and trains in Grand Central Station!
Someone is always coming in from or running out
to catch the next train to our lives outside.
Rarely is there a "quiet moment" here
as we are all on different time zones...
so someone is always up and moving around the place.

In the Kitchen/Dining area,
you can hear the sounds of the food processors
and the whir of the Vita-mix in the background
as the conversations interweave.
Recipe sharing is one of the hot topics here.
Over a tall glass of Green Smoothie,
I can hear several people discussing
the symptoms that have mysteriously disappeared
and the ways that they are now spending all that excess energy...
how great they feel as the food does all the work!!

As you pass the Fitness room,
a squeal of delight is heard as someone steps onto the scale
only to find that they have lost the weight
of burdensome emotions they have carried for too long!
Everyone comes along side to celebrate the release!
There are many forms of loving body movement encouraged here...
You can take a Hooping class or join the walker's name it, we have it!

In the Media Room / Library,
you can watch videos,
flip through photo albums,
read blogs,
check out books...
take your pick!

In the Common Area, people always gather here,
sharing about their day and laughter is heard all through the Unit...
you are drawn here by all the activity!
Hey, someone just turned up the music....
they are rolling back the carpets..
getting ready for a kick-it-up time in the house!!
Singing and dancing!!

Too much noise for you?
Drop by the Chapel and collect your thoughts there.
It is a place to rest your mind, lift up a prayer or share a need.

If you want some more peace and quiet, come with me out to the patio.
Rest under the shade of the lush fruit trees...
Listen to the birds singing...
take out your journal and reflect on your day.
Or you can take a tour of the Raw Food Rehab Garden Habitat.
Pick some delicious fruit from the trees.
See what is growing out here...
plant something...
Harvest some of the fresh, organic produce.
Fill a basket with whatever you would like back to the kitchen.
The climate here is such as to refresh and sustain us;
the conditions are right for growth:

There is enough food (information and inspiration) to nourish us:
body, soul (mind, will and emotions) and spirit!

There is enough water (encouraging words)
to keep us refreshed.

There is enough good soil (our hearts are tender and open)
for us to plant our roots down deep into.

There is enough LIGHT that is shining brightly through the windows of our souls
to produce a chlorophyll within us like wheatgrass and sunflower greens...
ready for others to receive so that we can exchange our strengths!
This is the lifeblood of our Home!
We are being soaked, sprouted, planted and harvested to help each other!

This is a breeding ground for creativity to be unleashed!
A place to "test out our wings" so to speak..
a proving ground, a research center..
an environment where we are practicing over and over
"until we get it" and we find acceptance and love.

This is a safe place where secrets
to beginning and developing and maintaining
the raw lifestyle are shared...
This is a place of discovery within ourselves...
as to who we are
and what we need to do for ourselves
and where we are going.

We can liken our raw food journey to a little child learning to walk,
determined to do it without hesitation or fear (for fear is a learned behavior)
with only eyes for the personal goals we have set
and a hand up from a fellow member if we trip or fall.

A nurturing spirit is in this haven.
It is a non-threatening, secure zone,
free from debate and drama.
It is a peaceful, restful, relaxing little corner of the world and it all ours!
All this with a backdrop of love and caring....

This place cannot be marked on a map...
it is only somewhere out there in cyber space...
It is only as real as the typed words that find their place etched in our hearts,
or the visual pictures or movies in our minds that are replaying memories.
It is really an invisible world made visible to us
because we have chosen to embrace this way of life
that most have never experienced the joy of.

We are "rehabbing" or removing the old habits that have only brought us pain.
We are developing new habits of tender nurturing self-care and love for ourselves.
We are at a place within this space to take our lives to the next level.
We see ourselves as empowered and energized to let our lives make a difference.

Spend some time thinking about the new raw lifestyle you are living...
breathe in deeply and be prepared for the BEST REST OF YOU LIFE!!

Enjoy getting settled into your suite...have fun exploring your new home!
Hugggggggggs and handing you a fresh Green Smoothie,
Susan : )

PS: Can you say, Our "Special Central Secret Place in Cyber Space" 5 times really fast?? grins... : ) Coupons for more Green Smoothies are the prizes...

Your Health...You CAN Change it NOW!

Your health is in your hands...
Only YOU can Change It!

Hello...I know you’ve got a world of problems.
And you think you can’t do anything to solve ‘em;
But I am here to tell you you can.
Somethin’ got you down, got you chained and bound
Well break it. (Face it)
If you’ve built a wall and know it needs to fall,
Then shake it. (Replace it)
Somethin’ that you know is dammin’ up the flow,
Tear the damn dam down.
Let me explain it.
If you don’t take the reigns, it’s going to stay the same
Nothin’s gonna change if you don’t change it.
Let’s do this!
Don’t let fear and doubt leave you empty and without.
Verse 2:
You got somethin’ on your mind that’s naggin’ all the time,
Well nix it. (Resist it)
Somethin’ in your life that just ain’t sittin’ right,
Well ‑face it. (Just kick it)
If you’ve lost your place somethin’ in your face
If there’s an empty space and you can’t name it.
That feelin’ in your gut that’s got you in a rut,
You’re made of better stuff and you can change it.
1st Chorus:
Change it,
You don’t want your little light to never shine.
Change it,
Turn it up on bright and get your goals in line.
There’s a great new world out there
For those who dare to claim it.
A better day is on the way and only you can change it.
Cha-cha-change, cha-cha-change, change it!
No dream you can’t accomplish, no mountain you can’t climb.
So activate your love and faith, you can change.
2nd Chorus:
Stand up, grab a’hold, give everything you’ve got.
When the road is dark and cold, walk on fearing not.
Get your life in order, clean house and rearrange it.
Raise your voice and make a choice
Committed now to tear the damn dam down
And change it.
Change it.
Why some people don't here!

Go Ahead...Have the Last Laugh! : )

We all go through situations where we are not treated fairly. When this happens, the natural thing to do is to defend ourselves and set the record straight. Our human nature wants to get even.

But did you know God has a different way of doing things? God has a plan for you to succeed even during unfair situations. If you'll let Him, He will make all your wrongs, right because God is the greatest vindicator of all. Romans 12:19 says, "Never avenge yourself but leave the way open for God." That means, whenever we face unfair situations, instead of being discouraged, trying to get even and do things in our own strength, we should simply release our faith and watch God go to work. The good thing is, God doesn't just fight your battles for you, He goes on and blesses and promotes you in front of your enemies and those who have persecuted you. When we let God vindicate us, He makes us far better off than we could ever be on our own!

When you stay faithful and do the right thing, even when the wrong thing is happening to you, your character is being developed and prepared for God to pour out his favor and blessings that will push you into a new level of His goodness.

If you'll keep an attitude of faith, knowing whom your vindicator is, God will not only increase you and bless you but He will make sure to get you where you need to be where you will have the last laugh! ~Joel Osteen

Today's Mission....should YOU choose to accept it....(this will not self destruct in 30 seconds!!)

(enter Mission Impossible music...da da, da da da da)

Apply this generously to your New Raw and Living Foods Lifestyle!

As a Mother of a special needs child, I know what it feels like to be WORN out and tired...

I get emails from the Sensory Nanny....Here is one of them...that reminds me to take care of me:

Do something nice for yourself that does not help, fix or bless anyone else…
.......something that is only for you.

So often we get so overwhelmed by everything going on in our lives that we forget to take time out for ourselves. I have gotten to the point of having felt guilty for taking time for myself by taking a nap, only to then sit back and realize that if I would have gotten the sleep that I needed (that everyone not only deserves, but biologically needs to have), rather than trying to save the world, I wouldn't have needed the nap in the first place. The nap was not me taking care of myself; it was my body shutting down because I wasn't taking care of it in the first place. It was a means to get back to baseline, but not something that I was doing to be nice to myself.

The other temptation that we have is to multitask. We will "take time for me" but in the middle of it we help with homework, fix dinner for the family, or do some other "little thing" that will help, fix, or bless someone else.

Today what I'm asking you to do is to purposefully do one thing nice for yourself. Some examples would be to take a bubble bath, take a walk (without kids), write in your journal, paint your toes, listen to relaxing music… get the idea I'm sure.

It really doesn't matter what it is or how long it takes, it just needs to be something that is only for you. We need to get into the habit of purposefully doing nice things for ourselves without feeling guilty about it. Remember that taking care of yourself is the most important thing because if you don't take care of yourself, you can't take care of anyone else.

Remember.... you can do this…
....everything is going to be ok…
.........and remember to take time to breathe!

Your JOY Bucket : )

Did any of you see the movie "The Bucket List"?
HERE for the trailer.

More Clips:
facing our issues isn't fun
I am not asking you to jump out of a plane!

I have been through a lot of intense trauma in my life. (you really do not want to know) I have stayed focused on the good things...that is how I not only survived, but overcame and triumphed over it all. Most of us won't be kicking the bucket soon, but making a list and doing it and enjoying the life we have right now is something that we can do to keep perspective.

I love filling up my joy bucket. A person can only handle as much trauma as the joy they have stored up. That is very interesting. So people that have been victims keep being re-victimized because they have no storehouse to tell them they are okay and build their confidence. Now the neat thing about our joy bucket is that it doesn't matter whether you give the joy or get the joy, it still serves to fill up your joy bucket.

A person who is depressed is not recognizing joy in their life. If you're depressed, perhaps you should make a joy bucket, and start putting something in the bucket every time you give or receive joy and watch your joy bucket fill up. At times when you feel down, depressed or just out of it, look at your joy bucket. Think about what you can to do to add to it. Make the choice to give joy, so you can fill up your joy bucket some more. Be deliberate! Make JOY an important part of your life.

Get a bucket or a list**.....FIND THE JOY!!********

******** There is an awesome Almond Joy Drops recipe posted in the Raw Food Rehab's Kitchen Raw Desserts section! Almond Joy candy bars were my absolute favorite before going raw...The "legal" raw recipe ones are delicious!

**When I make a "To do" list now, I title it: "To Graciously Do," "To Do with Acceptance," "To Do Joyfully," "To Happily Do," "To Conquer Boldly," "To Accomplish Gracefully," etc.

Obvious Delight in What You are Doing!

Apply this to your raw food journey!!

Do you have an OBVIOUS DELIGHT in what you are doing?
Can people see that OBVIOUS DELIGHT shining brightly through you?
Can they see it in your eyes, hear it in your voice and observe it in your body language?

"The thing I remember best
about successful people I've me
all through the years
is their obvious delight
in what they are doing.
And it seems to have
very little to do with worldly success.
They just love what they are doing
and they love it in front of others."
~quote from Mr. Rogers

What is one thing that you haven't wanted to do this week,
though if you did it today, it would move your life forward?

It will make you feel awesome when you do it!

Successful people create a habit of doing things they don't like to do.

Finish your week STRONG!

"I don't have to get it right, I just have to get it going!"

Post this on a post-it-note on your dashboard in the car, on my bathroom mirror
or on your computer monitor!

V5...virtual High Five to ya!! : )
along with a Green Smoothie and a shot of Wheatgrass on the side!!

I do not think this guy is raw, but he has a great message! : )

Here is the essay he was referring to: The Common Denominator of Success

I Am Under the Influence of Raw Food...

Never let anyone who has LESS HEALTH than you
influence your raw lifestyle choice!

Never let anyone who has LESS ENERGY than you
influence your exercise/loving movement choices!

Never let anyone who has LESS SELF-CONTROL than you
influence your eating choices!

Never let anyone who has LESS WISDOM WITH FINANCES
than you influence your spending/saving habits!

Let someone who has MORE WISDOM WITH FINANCES than you
influence your spending/saving habits!

Let someone who has more of the above influence you!

Whose example are you following?
Who is following your example?

Apply this throughout your life...

I also think about it like this:
Am I under the influence of faith or fear?

Who are YOU influencing?

Life is good!
All around me are opportunities for growth....and I am taking them!
I am embracing change...not running from it...
My chosen responses to the circumstances
that encircle me will make all the difference in the end.

I choose not to let my emotions enter into the picture.
I am riding on the crest of the wave,
not crashing but enjoying the ride!

I am keeping my focus on moving forward.
Keeping my eyes on the prize:

...a forever energized healthy body

...a clear mind and a strong spirit...

Nothing that comes my way is worth giving up my focus.

When I SET my attention on the good things

and do not give place to any of the difficult things...
I am in charge of where I am going...
I have set my face like a flint

....and am turning into the wind
My sails are full and I am FREE!

I will stay my course...and with GREAT EASE...
There is no more struggle, but simple celebration...

Gooooood Resurrection Morning! : )

Let us Arise with Newness of Life! : )

Joel Osteen wants you to know the key to being a bounce back person.
Life is full of things that try to push us down.
We all face disappointments and setbacks.
Maybe you got bad news concerning your health.
A relationship didn’t work out.
Or perhaps the hurricane damaged your house.
It was a setback.
It’s easy to get discouraged, lose our enthusiasm.
Too often we just settle where we are.

But if we’re going to see God’s best we have to have this bounce back mentality. That means when you get knocked down you don’t stay down. You get back up again.

It means when disappointments come and things don’t go your way you don’t have a pity party and think, “Life’s just not fair.” No, you shake it off knowing what was meant for your harm God is going to use for your good.
