A Buoyant Spirit

A buoyant spirit always comes back up whenever it’s pushed down.

Hard times and difficulties may attempt to discourage us and to drain us of our courage,

but having a buoyant spirit means when we get pushed down we always come back up to the top.

When trouble hits and tries to drown us, it can be as though there is a spring deep inside of us that always thrusts us up above the trouble.

And that has made all the DIFFERENCE! : )

As Raw Foodies, we take a different path than so many around us...
.....and that makes all the difference!!

The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that, the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I marked the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I,
I took the one less traveled by,
AND THAT HAS MADE ALL THE DIFFERENCE.

Let the path of the raw foods lifestyle make all the difference!

6 Reasons Why People Don’t Change, and What to Do About That

“Men are anxious to improve their circumstances, but are unwilling to improve themselves; they therefore remain bound.” James Allen

“Any change, even a change for the better, is always accompanied by drawbacks and discomforts.”
Arnold Bennett\

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.” Anais Nin

You have probably arrived here because you want to make a positive change in your life. Perhaps you want to improve your social skills, your health or simply your attitude and how you think.

Now this is great. But it seldom that easy. There may be obstacles outside of you. There are almost certainly obstacles inside of you.

In this article I’ll explore some of those common obstacles that can make change so hard and how to overcome them. Hopefully you’ll find something that can help you to move forward to make that change.

1. You don’t want to change.

Maybe you think you want to change something. But is it really your wish? Or is it the wish of your parents, boss, partner, friends or society?

If you don’t really want to make the change deep down then it will be very hard to go the distance. Yes, you can begin but if there is no inner drive to do it then you will lose motivation easily and feel like giving up all the time after a while.

What to do about it: Sit down and really think about whose goals you are working towards. If they are not yours the think about what you can do to stop working on them and spend more time on your own consciously chosen goals instead.

If you still have to go on with may have started as someone else’s goal – perhaps your boss has told you to do something and you can’t just ditch that if you want to keep your job – then find your own reasons for working on that goal. Brainstorm and write them all down. Review that paper and make the goal into more of your goal and know why you are working towards it for you own sake.

This is also why it is hard – if not impossible – to change someone else. So be careful about such wishes and hopes.

2. You don’t feel courageous enough.

Change can be scary. Doing things for the first time or stepping into the unknown can pretty frightening. You may feel like you need some courage to make those changes you want, to take those first steps.

What to do about it: Well, as Eleanor Roosevelt once said:

“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you think you cannot do.”

You have to be willing to take action, to move out of your comfort zone and to face fear to increase your courage and self confidence in a way that stays with you (not like when you pump it up temporarily by using different exercises or music for example). You have to be willing to take the punch and risk some emotional pain for a while. There is no way of getting around that.

And I won’t lie to you. Sometimes it will suck. You will go to bed and feel sick to your stomach and just hope the day will end. But many times you will feel great as you just move over that invisible barrier and face your fear. You may not even get the result you wanted but still feel great about yourself because you just dared to face that fear or take some action.

But what about the times you felt sick to your stomach and went to bed feeling not so good at all? Well, the next day you will wake up. And you realize that you are still here. You are intact and the earth keeps spinning and you get up for a new day. Life continues. But now you know deep down that you can handle things at least a little bit better because you could handle what happened yesterday. You have raised your confidence in yourself and become stronger.

And another thing is this: when you do things you don’t just build confidence in your ability to handle different situations. You also experience progressive desensitization. What that means is that situations – like for example public speaking or maybe just showing your latest blogpost to an audience out there – that made you feel all shaky become more and more normal in your life. It is not longer something you psyche yourself up to do. It just becomes normal. Like tying your shoes, hanging out with your friends or taking a shower. And so you don’t really need that much courage after a while.

3. Your environment is holding you back.

If you are for example trying to lose weight then it will be a lot harder if the people around you are eating junk food every day. If you are trying to think more positively then it will be a lot harder if you hang out with negative people all the time and watch the news and negative and fear-inducing TV-shows too much.

What to do about it: Change your environment in a ways that will support you. That’s doesn’t mean that you have to take drastic measures like never talking to some friend or family member again to cultivate a more positive attitude.

It may just means that you cut down on seeing the most negative people/TV-shows etc. that much and replace that with more time with positive people and positive media consumption. By doing that the process will be so much easier.

If you are trying to lose weight then find people with similar goals that you can spend some time with each week. Even if it’s just via an online forum of some sort.

Carve out some time and a space for yourself with people and motivational and educational information – books, blogs, magazines etc – that will support you as you move towards your goal. Also, by involving more people and/or for example signing up for courses somewhere you will feel commitment to people you like and a bit of positive social pressure to actually go there when you are supposed to instead of slacking off on the sofa.

One common problem with the social environment is that you perhaps fear what people may think if you make change. Well, in my experience people are seldom as harsh as you think they will be. They are most often supportive or simply not that interested/neutral to you making changes.

People are most often focused on their own goals and challenges in life. Or what other people may think of them. You are not the center of the universe. :)

4. You feel like giving up after one or three failures.

When you are really young then you probably don’t build failure up to be this huge thing. You learn to walk, fall down and ding your head and get up again. The same goes for learning to ride your bike.

But through influence from school and society failure becomes this increasingly more frightening thing. Sure, as you get older the stakes become higher and you can lose more if you fail. But I do think people often exaggerate the effects failure will have simply because they feel frightened.

What to do about it: Most of the time the sky will not fall if you fail. People will not mock you. Life just goes on, as I mentioned above while writing about courage. But you have to do things to gain this understanding. You will not get it just by reading these words and all the other things by people who have said the same thing for centuries.

Your mind has to experience failure – or the possibility of it – over and over to make the fear of failure to lot smaller. That has at least been my experience.

You may however find motivation in that failure teaches you things books/blogs cannot. By changing your perspective to a more curious one and seeing failure more as a learning experience than something to fear it becomes easier to handle.

5. You don’t feel enough pain yet.

Why do people change? Oftentimes I think they have simply had enough. The pain of staying as you are becomes too big and you seriously start looking for a positive way forward.

What to do about it: Besides waiting until the problem becomes pretty much unbearable you can try to see your future self vividly in your mind.

Ask yourself: What will this lead to in 5 and 10 years? Where are you going?

Towards massive debt, a heart attack, serious illness and severe restrictions in your future? Do you want go to that place where it is very likely that you will wind up if you don’t make a change? Then see your future self where you have made the positive change. What positive and awesome things has it brought you in 5 years and in 10 years? See it all in your mind. And remind yourself of the positive and negative consequences by writing them down and reviewing them whenever you feel like quitting and going back to your old ways.

Vividly seeing the probably very real future consequences of not changing can be that nudge you need to get serious about improving something in your life.

6. You don’t know how to practically make the change.

This is a common obstacle. Fortunately, we nowadays have the Internet so it’s a lot easier to find practical solutions to the problems many people have faced before you.

What to do about it: Ask yourself what have other people before you or around you have done to improve their situation?

Talk to people who have made the change you want to make (lose weight, quit smoking, improve the social life etc.). Or if you can’t find anyone, read the top rated books on Amazon.com on that topic or read blog articles.

But make sure that you take advice from someone who has actually been in your shoes and gone where you want to go. Find a way that suits you. It may not be the first method or system you try. So be patient. Keep moving forward towards the things you want most in your life.

Fueling Vs. Feeling

Fueling vs. Feeling

Why do I eat?

What is the purpose for eating?
Why do I put food into my mouth?

Why do I fill up my car with gas?
Not because the car LIKES it!
Not because something is wrong with the brakes ,
and it NEEDS gas..."Gimme Gas, gimme gas!
My brakes aren't working.
It will make me feel better"

But that is what I have done.
"My foot hurts,"
Eat something to make it feel better.

"Somebody just called me a name."
Wolf down some food to take away the pain.

Imagine a car saying, "My tires are bald, give me more gas!" : )
I would never overflow my gas tank when filling up my car....
Why would I do it to my body?

I no longer eat for the feeling...I eat for the fueling...so different!!

Other ways I look at this now are:

Since cooked food is no longer my lover, I don't have to answer it when it calls my name.....I simply don't respond. By taking food off the pedestal* and placing it among all the other common things in life, I have removed its 'specialness' and let it find its rightful place beside all equally important things. My focus on it alone has brought me much pain.

It no longer controls me. It no longer holds such fascination for me. It is simply a servant, not royalty. It doesn't appear "larger than life" itself anymore. It is just a part of my whole life. I no longer elevate it higher than it needs to be.

I can enjoy/love people and relationships and use food to fuel my body. Instead of loving the food and using people and relationships to fuel my life. Our social life consists of food with or without people. Why can't our social life be about people with or without the food? If you notice, everything revolves around food. Why? Think about this for awhile...Every event has food, and it if doesn't have physical food there, food is talked about there, even if it is where are you going to eat after the event.

Also, I am not tuned in to the "FOOD CHANNEL". I am tuned into the "FUEL CHANNEL", listening for my body's cues for fuel. If I am not tuned into a certain radio station, I won't hear it.

Try taking the emotions out of the food....what is left is simply fuel.
Think about this...Are you eating to satisfy emotions or to fuel your body?
When you are fueling, you really enjoy the fullness of your life in all areas!

chew on this for awhile....

Maintaining Momentum

Raw Discipline....

Lesson #1
- Discipline is not a bad word.
It is not something someone did to you to make your life miserable.
Well, it might have been, but that is not the full story on discipline.
Self-discipline can be a really positive, life-affirming practice.

The feeling you get when you successfully use discipline
to make a good decision in the heat of the moment
gives you a great sense of control, accomplishment,
creativity, joy, warmth, and maturity.

Try it, - you just might like it! :)

In Joy!

20 Ways to Get Mentally Tough!

1. When you face a setback,
think of it as a defining moment that will lead to a future accomplishment.

2. When you encounter adversity,
remember, the best don’t just face adversity; they embrace it,
knowing it’s not a dead end but a detour to something greater and better.

3. When you face negative people,
know that the key to life is to stay positive in the face of negativity, not in the absence of it.
After all, everyone will have to overcome negativity to define themselves and create their success.

4. When you face the naysayer’s,
remember the people who believed in you and spoke positive words to you.

5. When you face critics,
remember to tune them out and focus only on being the best you can be.

6. When you wake up in the morning,
take a morning walk of gratitude and prayer.
It will create a fertile mind ready for success.

7. When you fear, trust. Let your faith be greater than your doubt.

8. When you fail, find the lesson in it, and then recall a time when you have succeeded.

9. When you head into battle, visualize success.

10. When you are thinking about the past or worrying about the future,
instead focus your energy on the present moment.
The now is where your power is the greatest.

11. When you want to complain, instead identify a solution.

12. When your own self-doubt crowds your mind,
weed it and replace it with positive thoughts and positive self-talk.

13. When you feel distracted,
focus on your breathing,
observe your surroundings,
clear your mind, and get into The Zone.
The Zone is not a random event. It can be created.

14. When you feel all is impossible, know that with God all things are possible.

15. When you feel alone,
think of all the people who have helped you along the way
and who love and support you now.

16. When you feel lost, pray for guidance.

17. When you are tired and drained, remember to never, never, never give up.
Finish Strong in everything you do.

18. When you feel like you can’t do it,
know that you can do all things through Him who gives you strength.

19. When you feel like your situation is beyond your control, pray and surrender.
Focus on what you can control and let go of what you can’t.

20. When you’re in a high-pressure situation and the game is on the line,
and everyone is watching you, remember to smile, have fun, and enjoy it.
Life is short; you only live once. You have nothing to lose. Seize the moment.

God is Good All the Time! : )

Chorus:

God is good all the time
He put a song of praise
In this heart of mine;
God is good all the time
Through the darkest night
His light we shine
God is good, God is good
All the time

If your walking through the shadows
And there are shadows all around
Do not fear, he will guide you
He will keep you safe and sound
He has promised to never leave you
Nor forsake you, and his word is true

We were sinners so unworthy
Still for us he chose to die
Filled us with his holy spirit
Now we can stand and testify
That his love is everlasting
And his mercies they will never end.

Though I may not understand
All the plans you have for me
My life is in your hands
And through the eyes of faith
I can clearly see.

He’s so good, God is good,
He’s so good, God is good,
He’s so good all the time.

Are YOU Ready for a Raw Food Revolution?

The Raw Food Revolution Diet
By Cherie Soria

I own this book. I have not purchased many, but this one is a gem, a must have! To purchase, Click Here!

Discover how a raw foods diet will balance your weight naturally. This collection of recipes for imaginative, delectable, accessible and enticing cuisine is a far cry from a discipline limited to salads and sprouts.

You'll be able to enjoy delicious, easy-to-prepare meals without feeling deprived. And you'll experience how raw foods can improve your health and make you feel more alive.

Practical tips make it easy to choose the raw diet plan that's right for you with handy menus to get you started. A "How To" section on putting together a raw food diet that is nutritionally sound ensures that you receive the nutrients you need as you achieve your natural weight.

Here is one of my favorite recipes from the book that I make all the time:
Turtle Truffles, Chewy Caramels, and Chocolate or Carob Fudge
Serves: 12

Chewy Caramel
1 cup pitted dates, chopped
1 cup pine nuts, minced
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Chocolate or Carob Fudge

3 tablespoons coconut oil
2/3 cup pitted dates
1/3 cup seedless raisins or dried pitted cherries
dash cinnamon
3/8 cup cocoa powder or carob powder

Garnish for Turtle Truffes
1/2 cup perfect pecan halves
1. To make the Chewy Caramel, combine dates, pine nuts, and vanilla in a food processor and process until smooth. Form into small squares to serve as Chewy Caramels. Or, if making Turtle Truffles, place the mixture in the refrigerator while making the carob or chocolate coating.
2. To make the Chocolate or Carob Fudge, put measured coconut oil in a sealed glass jar and place it in warm water to liquefy. Put liquid oil in the food processor with raisins or cherries, dates, and a dash of cinnamon, and process until it forms a smooth ball. Add carob or cocoa powder and continue processing until well mixed. Be careful not to over process the mixture and cause the oils to separate. The mixture should be smooth and tender, but not greasy. Press the fudge into a square shape and cut into small squares.
3. To hand roll Turtle Truffles, form small round balls of caramel using 1 teaspoon of the caramel mixture for each.
4. Next, form small round balls of the carob (or chocolate) mixture using 1 teaspoon for each.
5. Using your thumb, form an indentation in the middle of one ball of fudge. Place a ball of caramel into the indentation and carefully pull the fudge coating up around the caramel, covering the bottom and sides of the caramel with fudge coating. Press a perfect pecan half on top. Repeat until all truffles are formed and refrigerate until firm.
6. Truffles may be stored in the refrigerator in a sealed container until serving. May be frozen or refrigerated for up to one month. If desired put each truffle into a paper candy cup prior to serving. Makes about 2 1/2 dozen truffles.

Great Info from The Creative Health Institute

Mental Attitude and HealingWe've noticed at Creative Health Institute that guests that say,
"I can, I will and I do," get better;
those who say, "I can't, I won't and I don't," don't.
~Jim Carey

WHAT IS THE BASIC CAUSE OF DISEASE?
Dr. Ann Wigmore teaches that toxemia and deficiency are the root causes of all disease.

Deficiency that means that our bodies are undernourished, and are not receiving the proper types and amount of food the body needs. The digestive tract is being overloaded and allergies have developed. Dr. Ann Wigmore believes that about eighty per cent of the population has deficiency disorders because of the bodies inability to digest food. This is why she has developed methods for blending, sprouting, and fermenting. Living Food is supremely efficient nourishment that returns the body to health and productive self-healing.

Toxemia is a term used to describe poisons that are stored in the body. Toxins are formed from eating impure or unnatural, processed and chemicalized foods. Dr. Ann teaches that the body can release these stored poisons by feeding it with Living Food in easy-to-digest form. Once the body eliminates stored poisons that have accumulated in the bloodstream the cells are able to receive nourishment, thus enabling the immune system to strengthen and rebuild.

WHAT IS THE LIVING FOOD LIFESTYLE?
Living Food is food provided by nature, organically grown and in its original uncooked state. It provides the body with the life-giving, easy-to-digest nourishment which is needed to strengthen the immune system. Seeds, grains, nuts, fruits and vegetables in their natural, uncooked state are the Living Food which is used for rebuilding health - physically, mentally, and emotionally.

The Living Food Lifestyle is a total approach to life. Dr. Ann has been teaching this way of life for over thirty years. At the Ann Wigmore Foundation, individuals who are willing to change their lifestyle come to learn simple and inexpensive ways to grow their own Living Food indoors.

Easy-to-Digest Nourishment is the key factor to restoring and strengthening a weakened immune system. Food prepared in easy-to-digest form allow the cells to absorb fully the life-force energy produced by enzymes. The methods developed by Dr. Ann include: blending, fermenting, sprouting and growing greens indoors organically.

Dr. Ann has observed thousands of people overcome all the illnesses which are plaguing our world today, simply by following the Living Food Lifestyle. Living Food provides energy and has the ability to provide may other benefits. It is especially a great contributor to spiritual growth.

WHAT IS THE BASIC CAUSE OF ADDICTIONS?
The reason so many people have addictions is that their bodies have not received proper nourishment. Nutritional deficiency is a very serious condition. If the person's body is undernourished, energies are depleted, resulting in physical, emotional imbalances. When the nourishment of Living Food is supplied in easily digestible form, however, the body, mind and emotions become balanced and whole again. It has been proven over and over again that when the body receives ample and balanced nourishment, there is no desire for stimulants.

Keeping Your Energy High...

What are you grateful for?

What made you happy?
What energized you?
What barrier did you overcome?
What changed you?
What triggered your creativity?
What deepened your spirituality?
What kindness did you experience?
What did others do for you?
What inspired you?
What made you feel good?
What difficulty taught you an important lesson?

Gratitude is a mind state that leads to happiness and contentment.
So, it’s good to go forward into the new year with a grateful heart.
We can get caught up in negative emotions, like resentment or anger.
But such emotions are destructive and painful for you as well as for others.

Whenever you notice that you’re energy is negative, ask yourself:
“What am I grateful for?”

I have heard it said
that it has been scientifically proven
that negative thoughts/words bring your vibration lower
and that positive thoughts/words bring your vibration higher.

When our vibration is higher, we are healthier! Click here!

We are putting LIVE foods into our bodies to have that vibration raised...so let's do it with our intentions, thoughts and words as well!

Live with the Finish Line in Mind!

Always keep in front of your eyes the sights of the Finish Line...
Always keep in your ears the sounds of success...the cheers of others

What Price Am I Willing to Pay For My Health?

Thinking about
how willing I am
to do whatever it takes
to grow and change
and become who I want to be!!

The bottom line is:
No matter who around me is growing or changing or not...

I am the only one who can change me.

Just hanging around those who are growing and changing won't make me change...It can influence me if I let it. But I have to be the one making the best choices every day.

My two hands put the food to my mouth.

No one is force feeding me cooked food.

My feet can bring movement to my body.

Am I willing to move?

I am very aware of my personal responsibility for my own health.
What price do I put on my health?

I am investing in my health with raw food, loving movement and good self-care.

Today will reflect my BEST choices and the rewards that result from them!

I Am Willing To Pay The Price That Great Health Requires!

Are You??!! : )

My Daily Loving Movement Affirmations

I love my body and today I will treat it with respect.

Today, I Arise and Walk!

The Strength I need to get fit is already inside me. Starting today, I will call on that Strength every day, and I know He will guide me. By walking with the Spirit today, I’ll make it a great day. And tomorrow will be even better.

Because I claim to live in Him, I must walk as Jesus did. (I John 2:6)

Today, I am Walking on Purpose! Today, I am Walking WITH Purpose!
I do not just love with words but with actions in truth also. (I John 3:18)

My body is a temple. When I honor my body, I honor God.
Every day I walk, I walk in devotion.

I am aware that my Speaking Truth Brings Power into my life.
I guard my lips and my lips guard my life. I will not speak rashly and come to ruin, but will speak Faith-Full-Ly about myself. (Prov.13:3)

Walking makes me feel like a brand new person. I love to walk!

Today, I am Getting a Hand from Above! Thank You, Lord, for giving me
all the confidence and energy to accomplish everything I set out to do! I have everything I need for ultimate success. I’m tapped into the Greatest Source of Energy in the Universe, Today I will use just enough to get through the day with flying colors!

I rejoice in the Lord ALWAYS and I will say it again, “REJOICE!”
I let my gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

I am not anxious about anything.
In everything that happens,
I pray and ask with thanksgiving and present my requests to God. His peace transcends all my understanding. This peace guards my heart and mind.

I CHOOSE to think only on things that are true, noble, lovely, admirable. I think on anything that is excellent or praiseworthy. Whatever I have learned and received and heard or seen revealed to me by the Spirit, I put into practice today. God’s peace is with me! (Phil. 4:4-9)

This day, I am thankful! I thank You, God, for the gift of a regular life. I promise not to waste it.

I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.
Whether I am in need or in plenty, I have learned the SECRET OF BEING CONTENT in any and every situation, whether I just ate or I am hungry.

I can do everything through You who provides strength to make good decisions.

Today I decide to walk with You and to put good fuel into my body.

Today, I appreciate the little things—the roof over my head, the smiles of friends and family, the great energy in my body as I walk. Today, I am taking Spiritual Inventory. God, You are a part of every step I take. I give thought to my steps. (Prov.14:15) I am a whole, seamless person, Spirit, Soul, (which is my mind, will and emotions) and Body. Everything I do today will be a perfect reflection of my beliefs.

Today, I choose to love myself.
I feel the Divine Spark in my body and soul. I choose to do everything to further God’s plan for me. I do not argue with my Maker or question His doings. I trust Him. (Isa. 45:9-10) I am His creation of love, excellence and beauty.

Today, I walk in compassion.
We are all a part of God’s plan and all deserving of love. I CHOOSE to live in harmony with everyone. I am sympathetic, loving and humble in all my relationships. I do not repay with evil for evil or insult for insult. I bless others because I am called to bless so that I may inherit a blessing. (I Peter 3:8-9) Today I will feel God’s love shining through me. I say a blessing for and to everyone I meet.

Today, I am building Strength! I will do what it takes to stay strong into my ripe old age,
because I have many important things to do while on earth.

I know my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in me. I know that God gave me this body.
I am not my own. I am bought with a price. I will honor God with my body. (I Cor. 6:19-20) Each day I get stronger, and each day I get a little closer to God.

This day, I see food as SACRED FUEL.
I choose premium fuel to run this body. I know God is always with me when I eat, helping me get the energy I need to serve His kingdom. Whether I eat or drink or whatever I do, I do it all for the glory of God. (I Cor. 10:31) Today, I will put nothing but God’s natural foods into my glorious body!

Today, I choose to make what I drink sacred. With every glass of water I drink, I am bathing my soul in God’s goodness. Just as Jesus said to the woman at the well, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water. Everyone who drinks the water I give him will never thirst again. The water I give will become in him a sp ring of water welling up to eternal life.” I hear Him speaking this to me. Every time I drink water, I will think about the Living Water that washes and refreshes my soul. Today I commit to drinking water before and after exercise and to keep it nearby to drink throughout the day. Water is my drink of choice.

I pay attention to what is happening in the here and now.
I ENJOY EACH MOMENT. I am exactly where I need to be right now. Everything is all right.

I am loved by You, Lord and I am in love with You.
Because I am in love, I am noticing all the small miracles of life, the simple things, like breathing and moving and seeing and hearing. I hold this fresh feeling of excitement of renewed love and I carry it with me all day long. I take joy in my everyday tasks because I am dreaming about You! I embrace this day with all my will!

Today, I receive healing from all dis-ease.
I find my rest in You. You are the One who brings ease to me. Life is good. I really look forward to each day. I listen to You and I live in safety and in ease, without fear of harm. (Prov. 1:33) My natural state is abundant joy, health, and well-being.

When I wake up in the morning, this is the first thing I feel. Today I will look my BEST for You, Lord! As Your representative, I want others to see You in me. You smile through me to others. My beauty shines from within! When my beautiful smile and the evidence of good self-care shows, others notice also the gentle and quiet peaceful spirit I have, which is of great worth is God’s sight. (I Peter 3:3-4)

I spend as much and even more time caring for my “inner life” as my “outer life.” With each step I take, I’m on my way to being healthier, happier, and more attractive than I have ever been!

I can tiptoe past temptation. I trust that good days will follow the not so good days. There will be more and more of the good ones as long as I stick to God’s plan. Just when I am thinking that I am standing firm and walking every day, I know that I need to be watchful that I do not fall. I must remember that no temptation except what is common to man has ever seized me. God is faithful. He will not allow me to be tempted above what I can bear. When I feel tempted, God will also provide a way out so that I can stand up under it. (I Cor. 10:12-13) As I am ESTABLISHING ROUTINES of healthy living, I will not allow temptation to cause me to stray from the path I have chosen. Others before me have felt the same way.

Sometimes I feel tired or stressed and do not want to continue on the path of choices I have made. I recognize these thoughts as temptation to quit. .. I recognize any un-faith-ful THOUGHT PATTERNS as temptations. I choose to switch my inner dialog so that my mind walks the walk along with my body. If I miss a day of walking or eat off of my set eating patterns, I will not crumble. I will pick back up and move forward. God will continue to show me ways to minimize temptation’s holds on me. I will focus on Him and my choices instead of the temptation. His rewards and mine are far better than that of temptation. Today I will do the best I can and not punish myself for any mistakes I make.

What I am doing right now is exactly what I should be doing.
The past is done, and the future will take care of itself. There is time for everything I need to do in my life. I notice how relaxed God is about time. I resist the temptation to get impatient. Every moment of my life is full of meaning and to live life to the fullest I will enjoy every moment. My life is a long series of moments. I savor the watching of my life unfolding in the PACE God has set for me.

Today I will do one thing at a time. I will give it my full attention and will enjoy it thoroughly. The time I have is elastic. It stretches to include everything God has for me.

I savor the “sacred now” of my life. I am slowing down and noticing what is going on around me. I am making progress. I am committed to the process of progress. I have stopped questioning things and just am doing what I need to do. I will not fret over every detail or worry about failure or put tremendous pressure on myself. I will not allow any minor setbacks to set off alarms of anxiety. I trust the process and let things unfold at their own pace. When I do this, I cultivate peacefulness necessary for all growth and healing.

Mastery of healthy living happens, quietly, subconsciously and with faith. Things are doing just fine!
I do not worry about my life, what I will eat or drink or what I will wear.
My life is more important than food or clothes. Even as the birds do not work hard at worry and they get fed, You, Father, tenderly care for me. I am more valuable than birds. If I worry, it will not add any years to my life or even bring me solutions to the things that I could worry about. I am well dressed even as You, Father clothe the flowers of the fields that do not worry.

I will not waver in my faith or make it smaller by worrying. I will feed my faith Your Word so it will grow. You, Father, know all my needs. I will seek You first and all these things I need will be given to me. Tomorrow You will care for me just like you do today! Father, I love walking in faith with You! I escape doubt and and embrace faith!

Today I will do everything in my power to stay fit. Everything else will take care of itself! I TRUST YOU LORD! I trust myself also to keep my intentions. You Lord fill me with hope and all joy and peace as I trust in You. As I trust You, this causes me to overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)

Today I will apply no pressure to myself to succeed.
I trust it will happen naturally.
I just don’t talk the talk.
I walk the walk. I am devoted to walking. It is part of my worship.

I come to You in my secret place and ask You in simple words for Your guidance and provision.
I receive it in simplicity. I relax in You. Today I walk in silence for the beauty of walking with You and being in Your Presence. I come to be with You, for no other reason, but to enjoy You.

Perseverance? Discipline? What’s so hard about that?
I consider it PURE JOY when I face difficult times or feel challenged. Continuing to do my healthy living routines when I don’t feel like it causes my faith to develop patience. My faith is maturing and becoming complete and lacks nothing as I focus in faith and keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep walking!

If I feel lacking in any area, I ask God for help.
He gives to me generously without finding fault. He gives me he help I need. When I ask, I believe and not doubt that He will help me and I receive what I ask of Him. (James 1:2-6)

I have a spirit that is dedicated to being fully and exuberantly alive!
I make my habits and they make me.
I can choose my habits and will choose carefully. I make a habit of the praise of You, God on my lips, speaking of Your Name I will boast about You. I seek You and You always answer me! You deliver me from all my fears. As I look to You, I am radiant and my face is never covered with shame. (Ps. 34:1-6)

Daily exercise is a part of me now. My cells crave it!

How I love to talk to You and meditate on Your Word!
When my mind is free of distraction and focused in prayer, I get that daily dose of Your Spirit that keeps me strong! I do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world. I am being transformed by the renewing of my mind. With this renewed mind I am able to understand what God’s good, pleasing and perfect will is. (Rom. 2:2) Today I make the extra effort to set the world aside and let my mind enter the realm of the Spirit.

I don’t eat junk food and I don’t listen to junk sound.
I fill my mind with good and Godly things and think about what the Lord has done for me. Today I will fill up my soul with powerful, energetic and uplifting music! I will also fill my mind with God’s Word.

I control my present, and make my own future.
I will be exactly who God wants me to be. Whatever I do, I work at it with all my heart, as working for the Lord and not for men. (Col 3:2) Today I will act with integrity toward myself and will reach out to others with love and kindness.

Stress comes and goes, but as I keep exercising and walking and relaxing and trusting God’s plan,
I’ll stay on an even keel and everything will take care of itself. Trouble and distress may come upon me, but Your commands are my delight. (Ps. 119:143) I keep my peace in difficult times by meditating on Your Word.

Today I will give it my all, do what I can, and not worry about what I can’t do. Today I walk in wholeness. I know that living a life of purpose requires me to take care of myself, outside and in, and to keep making sure I’m doing what I really believe in.

When I do not know how to pray, I allow the Spirit of God to rise up and pray through me. He who searches my heart knows the mind of the Spirit. (Rom. 8:26-28) I am a whole, sacred person. There is no one on earth like me. I’m going to have a blast while I’m here! Everyone has their imperfections, including me. I bear no one any malice. My love extends to all humankind, myself included. I walk in love and forgiveness towards others and myself. I clothe myself with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. I bear with others and myself and forgive whatever grievances that arise. I forgive as God forgives me. Over all these virtues, I put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. (Col. 3:12-14)

This day I begin with a clean slate.
I hold nothing but love for myself and everyone that I meet. I will act in all of our best interests. Just as I am part of God’s plan, so is everyone else.

I’ve been so blessed in life. I know one of the greatest blessings is the chance to pass that on. I am always prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks me to give the reason for the hope I have. I do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience. (I Peter 3:15-16)

Everyday I walk, I’m contributing not just to my own quality of life but to the quality of all the lives that touch mine. The changes I’ve made in my health through regular walking have improved my life so much and hardly cost me a cent. I wonder what other easy ways I can think of to improve the world around me.

Since I have all the encouragement,
comfort of His love and fellowship with the Spirit, tenderness and compassion, my joy is made complete when I am like-minded, having the same love and being of one spirit and purpose. I do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. In humility I consider others over myself. I look not to my own interests, but also to the interests of others. (Phil. 2:1-4) Today I will make somebody else’s day!

I walk in love. Love is God’s essence. I won’t let others’ fears keep me from feeling that love and sharing it. God is love. I live in love and I live in God. Love is made complete among us so that I have confidence. There is no fear in love. Perfect love casts out all fear. Perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love. (I John 4:16-18)

I LOVE my life!!
